Pediatric Cardiology

CMMC supports the practice of a pediatric cardiologist, a medical specialist who provides comprehensive care to children with cardiovascular problems, including the heart and circulatory system.

Pediatrics is the healthcare specialty concerned with the physical, emotional, and social health of children from infants to young adulthood. Pediatric care encompasses a broad spectrum of health services ranging from preventive healthcare to the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic diseases. Pediatricians deal with biological, social, and environmental influences on the developing child, and with the impact of disease and dysfunction on development. The pediatrician understands the dynamic nature of the patient's growth and development.

To gain certification in pediatric cardiology by the American Board of Pediatrics, a physician must first be certified in pediatrics.
